LAW AND INDUSTRY 4.0
Description:
The purpose of the programme is to provide students with a basic background in law related to technological developments. The technical aspects of Industry 4IR, such as artificial intelligence, data, e-commerce, cybercrime and the legal implications of technical concepts, current legal framework applicable to e-commerce and cybercrime will be addressed.
Admission Requirements:
National Senior Certificate or an NQF level 4 equivalent qualification.
Curriculum:
• The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and the Law: Basic understanding of 4IR with specific reference to the revolutions that preceded it.
• Data and Information Privacy Law: An overview of the data and information privacy law and principles detailing the essence, importance and impact of these principles to society.
• Electronic or E-Commerce: A general study of electronic or e-commerce with a focus on the formation of commercial agreements and requisite formalities relating to the establishment of these contracts.
• Labour Law 4.0: An overview of the related principles of labour law will be examined, including the nature and significance of these rules to society. Aspects, such as individual labour law, collective labour, labour dispute resolution and social security.
• Cyber-Crimes and Cyber-Security: An overall synopsis of cybercrimes and cyber security as well as scenarios informed by facts and law. the extent of the limit of legal principles regulating cybercrimes will be examined.
• Ethics, Law and Industry 4IR: The framework and role of ethics, law and industry 4IR will be investigated. the importance of ethics in dealing with acts or conducts independent of humans and without human control or interventions will be discussed.
